Artist statement:

Anna Villa is the artist living and working in Florida, USA.

Figurative contemporary realism is the core expression for her painting. She considers herself an empathetic artist and paints people in their comfortable environment. Her palette consists of blues, viridian greens, and grays for the background to frame the figure and create a bit of a mysterious feel to a reality surrounding the sitter.

“Mostly I paint from photos I capture of individuals; I feel guilty about “torturing” a person with a lengthy sitting session, as everyone is busy in the fast-paced world we live in.”

When a photograph is selected, she searches for a composition in her imagination and chooses a suitable palette, adjacent hues that would enhance the overall mood and complement the figure.

As an artist, she would love to create her art for the emotion it brings to viewers for generations to come.
