About Artist Anna Villa
Anna Villa, 1976, born in the USSR, lives and works in Florida, USA.
My mane motivators to become an artist:
My mother was my core motivation. She was an academy-trained artist and a member of the Artists Union of the USSR. My mom always claimed that I was destined to be a great artist.
Following the largest pandemic that affected our world, I began to reconsider the future of my life.
And at this time, I have to mention my husband, who is my greatest supporter and a significant source of artistic knowledge. He recognized a creative talent in me long ago, and recommended that I pursue an art education. Not to mention, the future's greatest artist, Anna Villa, did not have a high school diploma.

“Started from the bottom, now we’re here,” a line from a Drake song, perfectly captures my journey.
I found the Adult Education program and started preparing for the GED test. After three months, I finished all the exams and promptly enrolled at Palm Beach State College to begin my first semester to accumulate sufficient credits for transfer to Florida Atlantic University.
At FAU, I received my initial introduction to art and essential training that helped broaden my perspective and enabled me to think and make choices like an artist. During the learning process, I was more and more focused on the figurative art because it revealed the true human essence and transformed the figure into a personality.

My Approach:
I paint from photos I capture of individuals; I feel guilty about “torturing” someone with a lengthy sitting session, as everyone is busy in the fast-paced world we live in.
When a photograph is selected, I start searching for a background from my imagination. I choose the palette and adjacent hues that would enhance the overall composition and complement the person I paint.
My Standard:
As an artist, I truly believe that my art will be valued for the true representation of the person I paint and that the creative worth of my art should be judged by the people.
